Gandhi Jayanthi day!

To-day is Mahatma Gandhiji's (Jayanthi) birthday.  Fondly known as Father of the Nation, he spear-headed the freedom movement in India against the British Regime.  He won the battle against the British administration  without the use of weapons in non-violent manner.  

Mahatma means great soul.  It is ironical that the Mahatma's death was not natural and peaceful.  He was shot dead by his own countryman while he was in the prayer hall.  The Nation remembers the great leader who was the embodiment of peace and fearlessness.
