Control your TV with finger snaps!

Gone are those days when you change your TV channel with a remote which has been superseded by the touch screen now. What next? It is going to be touchless screen! You will be able to increase the volume or change the channel of TV or control your race car in video game by just snapping your fingers!

The wiggles of the fingers picked up by a tiny 3-D camera mounted on the TV top forms the input signals to control variety of functions of the TV. The concept is known as 3-D gesture recognition which has been the forte of an European firm Softkinetic.

Softkinetic is closely working with US instrumentation giant Texas Instruments and a couple of other firms to perfect the touchless screen pertaining to TV, Video Games and Personal Computers constituting the electronics entertainment segment.

Hopefully the new products are expected to hit the market by next Christmas!

  1. Wow, I didn't know this was the new technology. Well, we don't have television, so that may be why.

    Have a terrific day. :)
